The application

The surface to be veneered is neither sandblasted nor polished in preparation, but is simply cleaned with a steam jet. The white lithium silicate powder is now applied to the zirconium oxide surface with a few, fine sprays, but only enough (or so little) that the fine powder layer can be recognized as dust. This is fired directly at 910-920°C without a vacuum without further drying (be sure to follow the firing instructions in the instructions for use).

The special features

  • elaboro LiSi PURE is both the final direct veneer and primer for all veneering ceramics
  • Highest adhesive bond through unique diffusion with the zirconium surface
  • It is the ceramic veneering system with the highest level of chipping security
  • is the world's first veneering ceramic made from lithium disilicate
  • Customers confirm to us an average range of more than 60 uses per spray can

The Aesthetic

With elaboro LiSi PURE, we have succeeded for the first time in successfully combining the aesthetics of a high-quality lithium silicate veneering ceramic with the mechanical strength advantages of zirconium oxide. But there's more: Modern multilayered zirconium oxide such as elaboro 4D or STML-ZIRCONIA provide an excellent, natural color gradient and a translucent gradation to the enamel, which is optimally absorbed by the glass layer. The aesthetic result can be further optimized with dyes and a further low-burning lithium silicate layer made from elaboro LiSi LOW FUSE.

Surface hardness

The extreme surface hardness of zirconium oxide is reduced to the level of natural tooth enamel by the lithium silicate layer. At the same time, the veneer layer is safe from chipping, grinds into contact points and permanently protects the antagonist. Monolithic zirconium oxide restorations refined with elaboro LiSi PURE are therefore also suitable for bruxers.

The adhesive bond

The thermochemical reaction forms a diffusion layer in the boundary area. The REM images show a diffuse material transition. During ceramic firing, components of the powdered lithium silicate diffuse into the zirconium oxide surface, and at the same time zirconium oxide ions diffuse into the lithium silicate veneer layer

The optimally adjusted CTE value of the lithium silicate system ensures that a high-gloss surface is formed while the core of the veneer layer cools down as an amorphous glass. Overall, the system achieves a previously unattainable bond strength. This gives the zirconium oxide surface new glass-ceramic properties.

The synthesis of function and aesthetics

The natural aesthetics of lithium silicate combine with the outstanding strength of zirconium oxide. The surface offers a wealth of excellent properties such as plaque resistance and homogeneity, and the overall layer thickness within the parameters set in the CAD design can be reliably reproduced thanks to the extremely thin layer. elaboro LiSi PURE ensures a homogeneous and smooth surface with natural color brilliance and is the method of choice for a safe full anatomy without any indicative restrictions.

FAQ

Can't I just polish my zirconium restorations or cover them with glaze? Why should I use LiSi PURE for this?

Of course, you can also achieve a shiny surface with a visually appealing work. However, the first impression can be deceptive: If you polish the zircon, the natural biting process only takes place on the natural antagonist; the zircon is too hard to be bitten into. If you glaze the surface, it simply chips away from the restoration after a certain period of wear due to grinding, biting and a poor bond. The zirconium is now exposed and is also unpolished; plaque accumulates effortlessly. Haben sie das Zirkon vor der Glasur poliert, chippt die Glasur schneller weg als Sie "Verblendung" sagen können.

But what makes LiSi PURE better?

In short, everything:
1. You don't have to worry about chipping: The adhesive bond is unrivaled due to the unique diffusion behavior - no chipping, guaranteed.
2. You save yourself polishing: spray the sintered zirconium with PURE, burn it at 920°C and you're done.
3. Protection of the antagonist: The glass-ceramic layer formed is just half the hardness of zirconium. This is the only way a truly natural bite can take place.
4. Patient satisfaction: Maximum aesthetics and a long-lasting feeling of a mirror-smooth surface, no chance for plaque accumulation.
5. When designing the supply - precise planning: Thanks to the extremely thin layer of 10µm, contact points can be set and implemented precisely. Fissures are not flooded.

Chipping, bonding and polished zirconium surfaces - could you explain this to me in more detail?

During insertion, the contact points of zirconium oxide restorations are ground down; in areas that do not fit perfectly (which is difficult to avoid in reality), a natural biting process takes place; the same thing happens to an extreme extent when people grind their teeth at night. The veneer “chips” or fractures from these areas. Current understaning therefore recommends that all contact points be mechanically polished to a high gloss before veneering, so that if the zirconium surface is unintentionally exposed, a smooth and therefore plaque-resistant surface is obtained. Unfortunately, polishing also leads to a reduction in the bond between the zirconium oxide and the veneering ceramic because the polished area no longer supports microretention and the veneer rests without a local bond. If this area is now broken open by grinding, the shearing forces when chewing can even lead to increased chipping, as the intact veneer is practically pry off bite by bite at these damaged areas. In current scientific reports, the chipping score is often mentioned there. This indicates the percentage of chips within evaluated studies and is then extrapolated.

Are there tests with a subsequently fired feldspar/leucite ceramic regarding the adhesive bond and CTE compatibility, for example with an additional vestibular veneer?

As early as 2013, studies found that not only is the adhesive bond significantly increased, it is also significantly better in contrast to other veneering ceramic systems if a base layer of LiSi PURE was first fired*. The CTE of the glass ceramic is precisely matched to zirconium oxide.

-
Can I also use LiSi PURE as a finish for veneering ceramics and dyes?

This is suitable for this purpose LiSi LOW FUSE, because the firing temperature of LiSi PURE at 920°C is simply too high. At these temperatures, the veneering ceramic usually runs away and the dye fades.
